JITNEY FARE HIKE TOPS TOWNSHIP COMMITTEE AGENDA TONIGHT

The Township Committee meets tonight and returns to Town Hall after spending the summer at the air conditioned police headquarters.

Among the items on the agenda is a proposed jitney fee hike, which would increase the annual jitney fare from $92 to $100 and the single ride fee from $1 to $2.

The Township has said it is needed to reduce the township budget's portion of jitney expenses. Currently the Township provides 65% of the jitney budget. this would reduce it to 60%

See background on that HERE.

The TC also plans to set a two-hour, weekday parking limit along Tuscan Road between Valley and Prospect streets next to Tuscan School. We reported earlier that this is part of the move to improve safety in that area that also included the addition of painted parking spaces.

See the entire agenda HERE.

The meeting is set for 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall, 574 Valley St.

And, of course, there are always two public comment sections in the meeting where you can ask a question, give them a piece of your mind, or just a pat on the back.

Remember, they work for you!
